Whistler Strata Units

Karen Crescent Strata Development, known to locals as the “Coops”, is a 12 unit complex built in 1968. The idea is to replace it for a new building that maximizes the units’ size (by more than 130%) based on the allowable “bed units”. Our response is a crescent layout where each unit is orthogonal except for the stair corridor, which is wedge shaped to make up the overall radial layout. Tall narrow windows in combination with heavy timbers make up the facade treatment to ensure natural light penetrates the narrow unit.
