As founder and Principal, Don leads the project team. Focused in achieving the clients’ vision, he actively participates in workshops, architectural design, programming and space relationships, site analysis and sustainable design. In addition to his strong architectural and technical knowledge and expertise, Don is recognized for being a good listener, understanding, inquiring, value-based and committed to an integrity of contextual appropriateness.
As a Senior Building technologist and Production Team Leader, Eric is involved in all aspects of project development, from schematic design through to contract administration. Eric has a strong grasp of construction knowledge and costs gained through his 16 years in the construction industry that allows him to detail projects that are both efficient and cost-effective.

Michael has a long history of achieving design excellence. He was awarded the RAIC Medal upon graduating from the University of Calgary in 1982. From 1989 to 2010 Michael worked with Patkau Architects; 16 years of this time as a Principal. During this time he helped author and deliver numerous award winning projects. In 1997 Michael was awarded the ‘Ronald J Thom Award for Early Design Achievement’, which is awarded to one individual in Canada every two years who ‘demonstrates both outstanding creative talent and exceptional potential in architectural design.’
Shannon was raised in Vancouver, BC and was exposed to the construction and design industry at a young age. She studied at BCIT and La Salle College which provided her with the ability to create detailed ID packages suitable for different scales of projects, specializing in single-family residential design. Shannon is able to listen to clients aspirations and incorporate them into the design concept. She thoroughly enjoys working with textiles and materials and is able to create a unique palette for each home.

Lucy is a second year student intern at Openspace. She is not only passionate about the field of architecture, but she also enjoys exploring other fields such as identity and graphic design. She believes in preserving traditional culture and building new communities through contemporary design. Aside from design, she enjoys music, fine arts, dance and outdoor activities.
Shanon has a deep passion for exceptional design. With experience in both the commercial and residential sectors, she strives for simplicity, beauty and function in all her work. These values paired with her ability to build positive, trusting relationships and produce detailed working drawings has resulted in outstanding designs that inspire and engage. When not engulfed in her projects, or enjoying the company of her zany 1-year-old son, Shanon can be found in her home town of Squamish enjoying the mountain bike trails or sweating it out in a yoga class. Passionate, inspired, engaged, creative, honest, and intelligent: Shanon puts her heart and soul into all of her designs.
Elizabeth brings local and international experience in a wide variety of project types including custom homes, hotel and resorts, commercial and institutional buildings. Her passion lies in residential homes and designing highly customized spaces unique to their individual sites and inhabitants. Her strong design sensibility and attention to detail ensure each project is well-considered from concept through construction, and her experience in the commercial sector equipped her to deliver projects on time and budget. She thrives when working closely with clients, and creates productive lasting relationships.
Gita comes from an educational background of accounting, finance and entrepreneurship. She has been in the accounting/bookkeeping industry for 13 years and loves the finer details as well as organization. She holds a passion for sustainability and minimalism.

Bruana and Rudy don't only have a mother- daughter relationship; they are also best friends. They enjoy lying on carpets in the office when they are on duty.
Champs main goal in life is simple. To never be further than 6' from Eric while he is in the office.
